Canal employee rescued after falling into empty lock
A New York State Canal Corporation employee fell into an empty lock on Wednesday morning.
WATERFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A New York State Canal Corporation employee fell into an empty lock on Wednesday morning. The employee fell into the Erie Canal Lock 5 basin around 9 a.m.
State Canal Corporation officials said the worker's injuries are still unknown. While working on a maintenance project, the worker fell 10 feet off scaffolding and was transported to a local hospital.
