Miramar-based AleSmith Brewing Company, in partnership with its nonprofit Anvil of Hope, will kick off its annual holiday fundraiser Tuesday, a 10-day campaign to raise money for local families and children in need.

The public is invited to bid on exclusive items and experiences during the online auction, which starts on Giving Tuesday and ends on Dec. 13.

The festivities include an Ugly Sweater Party on Dec. 5 at the AleSmith Tasting Room. Organizers say the event promises prizes, games and holiday cheer while supporting the cause.

In addition to the auction and party, the fundraiser includes additional community-focused initiatives:

  • Canned Food Drive: Non-perishable food donations are being collected at AleSmith’s Tasting Room in Miramar to help combat hunger in San Diego County.
  • Giving Tree: Visitors to the brewery can choose from over 300 ornaments on the Giving Tree, each representing a child in grades K-12. Unwrapped gifts for these children can be delivered to the tasting room through Dec. 13.

Anvil of Hope, founded by AleSmith owners Peter and Vicky Zien, provides essential programs to at-risk youth and families including mentoring, career and life skills training, and youth enrichment.

“Our mission is at the heart of everything we do and the holidays are a time when we want to make sure that no family or child is left behind,” said Vicky Zien, owner of AleSmith Brewing and founder of Anvil of Hope.

AleSmith encourages community members to participate in the fundraiser and help make a difference for those facing challenges this holiday season.

More information about the fundraiser is available here.

This year’s fundraiser will include a charity auction with all proceeds dedicated to Anvil of Hope’s mission to help at-risk youth in San Diego County with mentorship to help break the cycle of poverty.

Beyond the auction, AleSmith and Anvil of Hope have organized additional community-driven events including a canned food drive and a Giving Tree collection to help spread holiday cheer.

Highlighting the festivities is the Ugly Sweater Party, scheduled for Dec. 5 at AleSmith’s Tasting Room. This event invites the community to don their most festive attire and join in celebrating the season while raising funds for a meaningful cause.
