A 16-year-old boy wounded a 45-year-old man Wednesday night who was attacking a woman inside a residence in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a battery in progress at a residence in the 3900 block of Huron Street where a 45-year-old man was physically attacking a 40-year-old woman, police said. A 16-year-old boy wounded a 45-year-old man Wednesday night who was attacking a woman inside a residence in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a battery in progress at a residence in the 3900 block of Huron Street where a 45-year-old man was physically attacking a 40-year-old woman, police said.
The attack stopped when a 16-year-old boy who also was inside the residence drew a firearm and fired, striking the man to the lower back, police said. The boy fled the scene and the man was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
