Boulder PD investigating after 6 overdose on possibly tainted drugs at fraternity house
The Boulder Police Department is investigating after six college students were taken to the hospital after overdosing on possibly tainted cocaine at a party Saturday night.
DENVER (KDVR) — The Boulder Police Department is investigating after six college students were taken to the hospital after overdosing on possibly tainted cocaine at a party Saturday night.
According to police, between 10 and 10:30 p.m., officers were called to the hospital and the Kappa Sigma fraternity in the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for reports of adult men who were sick and overdosing.
At least six men were transported or treated at the hospital and by medical personnel at the scene.
One of the men's prognosis was grave at first, but he and the others are now in stable condition.
According to the investigation, the men had consumed a possibly tainted batch of cocaine at a party. Alcohol was also involved, according to police.
Detectives are also investigating whether this was related to pledging at the fraternity.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
