Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Dorchester, which the DA called “another act of completely senseless violence” Tuesday night.
Boston police officers responded to 15 Michigan Ave., near Franklin Park, for a ShotSpotter report of multiple gunshots at around 8:03 p.m.
When cops arrived, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This is an unfortunate incident,” Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden said near the scene Tuesday night. “One homicide in this city is one too many, plain and simple.”
“What’s happened here tonight is another act of completely senseless violence,” the DA added. “We’re going to do the best we can to solve this and other cases and apprehend individuals. We just got to continue to keep doing the work that we need to do to keep this city safe.”
Detectives on Tuesday night were canvassing the area for videos and witnesses, as police look for anyone who may have information about the fatal shooting to come forward.
“We need the community’s help with any information that they can provide,” Hayden said.
Police are urging people with information to call the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470 or 1-800-494-TIPS.
