An unfounded bomb threat led to a law enforcement search at Harrah’s Resort Southern California on Monday morning.
An anonymous caller triggered the emergency at the Valley Center gaming and entertainment complex, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
During an ensuing search of the premises, resort staff discovered an unattended backpack and evacuated nearby individuals “out of an abundance of caution,” sheriff’s Sgt. Brendan Cook said.
Authorities found no hazardous items inside the backpack upon inspection.
Deputies then conducted a thorough sweep of the entire resort using contraband-sniffing dogs, but found no threats, Cook said.
