(KRON) -- A body that was found in a Santa Rosa creek last month has been identified, officials said on Monday. The Santa Rosa Police Department got a call at around 8:41 a.m. on Nov. 23 from someone walking along Piner Creek Trail reporting a possible body in Piner Creek.
About 20 minutes later, Santa Rosa PD officers found the body of a deceased man in the creek south of Guerneville Road. On Monday, SRPD identified the deceased man as 64-year-old William Fowler of Santa Rosa.
Fowler's cause of death, according to police, is still under investigation by the Sonoma County Coroner. However, foul play is not suspected, and Fowler's death does not appear to be related to the storms in the North Bay at the time, police said.
Santa Rosa PD said more information will be released when the coroner's report is complete.
