  • In yesterday’s interview on X Space, former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk discussed various topics but notably avoided mentioning Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.
  • Despite Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s choosing not to discuss cryptocurrency, the market has not been directly affected.

In a much-hyped interview on Monday evening, Former U.S. President Donald Trump and X CEO Elon Musk engaged in a spirited debate on the X platform. Unfortunately, the latter notably sidestepped any mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

The two-hour dialogue that attracted over one million listeners on X Spaces started at a bumpy start. According to the X platform CEO, the delayed start was due to a supposed “massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack,”  Adding weight to his claims, Elon stated,

As this massive attack illustrates, there’s a lot of opposition to people just hearing what President Trump has to say,

Questioning Musk’s allegation, one whistleblower, highlighted by the Verge, asserted that there was a “99 percent chance Musk was lying” about the attack. Intensifying the situation, a separate report from Netblocks confirmed that X was undergoing outages, leaving the DDOS attack unconfirmed.

Ironical to the fact that the two are pro-crypto, Elon and Trump discussed a plethora of topics ranging from illegal immigration, economic challenges, artificial intelligence, and climate change. Still, they neglected to utter a single word about crypto. The fact that there is no mention of the word crypto is of considerable importance due to the two individuals’ outspoken support for the industry.

On Polymarket, a prediction market platform, betters staked over $600,000 on the topic of a 65% chance of “ crypto” being mentioned during the interview. Additionally, Polymarket added to another likelihood that “Bitcoin” would be mentioned, which soared to a whopping 69% with approximately $330,000 on the table. Notably, no bets were created for other digital assets like Ether, Solana, or Dogecoin, considering their history.

Shedding light on Polymarket, users get to win bets that pay in USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. Dollar. In unprecedented turn of events, a Polymarket user under the tag ‘ bama1234’ fortune unexpectedly knocked on his door after securing over $1 million by accurately predicting the words the “ pro-Crypto Trump would or would not say during the sitting. A notable chunk of $336,918 came from betting that Trump would not mention “crypto” However, their success was not absolute, as they incorrectly anticipated Trump’s use of terms like “MAGA” and “Trans.”

The failure to talk about cryptocurrency is puzzling, given their track record concerning the digital asset sphere. Subjectively, according to an earlier CNF report, Donald Trump has previously engaged with crypto topics, the most recent being his speech at the BTC 2024 Conference. Additionally, as a pro-crypto candidate, Donald Trump has shown support for this new asset class by accepting campaign donations in Crypto.

Despite Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s choosing not to discuss Cryptocurrency, the market has not been directly affected. At the time of writing, Bitcoin was swapping hands with $58,894.50, marking a 0.05% decline in the last 24 hours.
