Officials said there is a limited excessive cold risk Thursday morning for portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana.
Current morning temperatures at O’Hare International Airport is mostly cloudy at 5 degrees with a windchill of negative 15 degrees. At Midway Airport conditions are the same at 6 degrees with a windchill of negative 14 degrees, officials said.
Officials also said a coating of snow was expected Thursday afternoon near US Highway 24 and warned driving conditions may be slippery in that area.
