SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Monday, a Ballston Spa man was sentenced to serve 10 years of probation, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office. The sentence comes after Thomas Belisario, 41, pleaded guilty to charges in August.

In October 2023, State Police received information that Belisario was allegedly attempting to meet with a 12-year-old child, with the intent of sexual exploitation. An investigation determined Belisario made arrangements and traveled to an agreed location in Halfmoon to meet with what he believed was the child.

He was charged with first-degree attempted criminal sex act and attempted use of a child in a sexual performance. On August 13, 2024, Belisario pleaded guilty to attempted criminal sexual act in the second-degree.

The investigation was conducted by the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, Homeland Security Investigations and the Internet Crimes Against Child Task Force. Belisario was represented by Defense Attorney Peter Moschetti.
