Austin police searching for man accused of assaulting lawn care worker downtown
According to APD, Austin 911 received a call around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 about a suspect with a knife threatening a man working in the Republic Square Park area.
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is searching for a man police said attacked another man who was working in downtown Austin last month.
According to APD, Austin 911 received a call around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 about a suspect with a knife threatening a man working in the Republic Square Park area.
APD officers responded to the scene and talked to the victim, who had an "obvious laceration" along the left side of his face. According to APD, the victim told officers he was working and using a leaf blower when he was attacked by a random person, who left the area afterward.
The caller had described the suspect as a Black male around six feet tall, who was wearing a white shirt and black pants.
Investigators were able to determine that the suspect had taken a CapMetro bus from Oak Springs Drive to the park and located the below images of the suspect.
APD described the suspect as a Black male around 50-60 years old, wearing a white tee shirt with text that reads "Never Give Up," gray pants, and black shoes. Police added he appeared to be walking with a limp.
