DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department recently announced that starting the week of Monday, Nov. 25, it would ramp up traffic enforcement efforts and automatically impound the vehicles of drivers that meet certain criteria.
According to APD, anyone found speeding, driving aggressively or driving with registration violations will be cited.
Vehicles will be automatically impounded if the driver doesn't have a driver's license, doesn't have insurance and has registration violations.
The operation will not be short-term, according to police.
The nearby Denver Police Department has run several short-term operations based on registration violations, and are currently in the middle of a month-long operation that started Nov. 2.
In the announcement, APD noted that deadly traffic incidents go up during the holiday season and asked that people drive cautiously and respectfully.
