MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York Attorney General's Office has released the body camera footage of a deadly officer-involved shooting in Saratoga County from September. The video shows troopers approaching a car in Malta with their weapons drawn.
State Troopers were attempting to locate James Dellea, 48, of Hillsdale, who had threatened self-harm. Police found him in the parking lot of the Albany Saratoga Speedway on Route 9 in the town of Malta.
The troopers surrounded the car as they made repeated demands for the driver, Dellea to get out. Police said he continued to refuse to leave his vehicle despite police commands, and troopers noticed Dellea had a firearm.
Dellea then brandished the firearm, according to police, and Trooper Brian Rudolph fired his weapon, fatally striking Dellea. Three gunshots were fired.
The Attorney General's Office is still investigating.
