(KRON) -- Authorities are looking for a suspect who allegedly stole $8,000 worth of merchandise from Kay Jewelers last Saturday, the Gilroy Police Department (GPD) announced. Around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, a man went into the jewelry outlet store and committed a smash-and-grab, police said.
According to GPD, the suspect was last seen running from the store wearing a black “CAT” hat, a black "Santa Cruz" hoodie, black Nike pajama-style pants and black Nike shoes.
The suspect is described to be a Hispanic man between 30 and 35 years old. He stands between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-5 tall and about 130-150 pounds, according to police.
He ran away and entered a white SUV with a getaway driver, police said. No other information about this theft is available at this time.
