Astro Bot wins The Game of the Year title along with the Best Direction award

Astro Bot has become the winner of the Game of the Year title. The Team Asobi game also received The Best Direction award.

Final Fantasy VII was a close competitor to Astro Bot

It was nominated in seven categories in The Game Awards 2024, making it the most prominent game. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was the second title, receiving an equal number of nominations.

Out of seven nominations, Astro Bot has won four, including the most prestigious award of the evening, The Game of the Year award.

Other titles nominated for the Game of the Year were Black Myth: Wukong, Balatro, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and a controversial entry, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
