SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) -- The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) arrested a man for arson after the suspect entered a business and set a boxed electric scooter on fire.
On Oct. 7, SJPD said patrol officers responded at 9:56 p.m. for a report of an arson and vandalism at a business in the 1800 block of Hillsdale Avenue. Officials said the suspect fled before police arrived.
Investigators with SJPD’s Organized Retail Theft Detail unit said it identified Andy Luong as the suspect and discovered Luong was involved in a prior theft at the same business.
Luong was arrested on Oct. 10 and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for arson, said SJPD.
