Sixers arena vote goes into overtime, expected today

Philadelphia City Council postponed an initial vote on the Sixers arena proposal not once but twice on Wednesday, as negotiations over the controversial development continued with team representatives.

Early Wednesday, Council President Kenyatta Johnson had floated a set of changes to the legislation that would double the Sixers’ commitment to a community benefits agreement, to $100 million. Opposition groups have been asking for $300 million.

The committee is now scheduled to reconvene at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. We’ll see. Continue reading …

Eagles fan takes to social media to find missed connection

A Facebook post from a longtime fan looking for the guy who paid her a compliment after Sunday’s Eagles game went viral — but hasn’t solved the mystery. Yet? 

“A lot of people are super-supportive, a lot of people are planning a wedding to a man that I’ve never met before and there’s a good chance that I might not meet ever. It’s really funny,” said Brenna Collier. “Apparently, they want Jason Kelce to officiate. . . But I got to find a man first, so the wedding’s on hold right now.” Continue reading…
