Amongst the hundreds of evacuated pets finding shelter from the destructive Mountain Fire, a few strays from the area recently found their way to a Ventura County animal shelter.
Ventura County Animal Services is now looking to reconnect the lost dogs and cats with their owners.
The organization posted a video of the strays to X on Friday afternoon:
These animals are currently at the Camarillo Shelter located at 600 Aviation Drive.
A few hours after the 12:32 p.m. X post, the account followed up with an update that at least one cat was reunited with its family after escaping the fire.
For those hoping to reconnect with their lost pets, the Ventura County Animal Services website has a search feature, contact information and hours of operation.
As of 6:46 p.m. Friday, CAL FIRE reports the Mountain Fire has burned across 20,630 acres and is 14% contained.
