ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - American Beverage is set to roll out a new initiative that will introduce brand new recycling bins to over 20,000 households in St. Peters.
The new initiative is a part of the Every Bottle Back grant, in which American Beverage will invest $320,000 to upgrade recycling services for households in St. Peters.
The new project is designed to make recycling easier for residents in both St. Peters and Cottleville. The initiative will provide new 95-gallon recycling carts, replacing the city's 'Blue Cart Crew' program, which required residents to sort recyclable items into separate bags. The grant will also provide educational materials to allow residents to distinguish which items are able to be recycled.
The initiative is expected to produce more than 46.6 million pounds of new recyclables over the course of the next decade, which will help create more recyclable bottles and cans.
The Coca-Cola Company, Keurig Dr Pepper, and Pepsico first introduced the Every Bottle Back grant back in 2019. Since its launch, the project has reached over 14 million residents across the country through $28.5 million in funding nationwide.
