Amazon Fresh Brings New Grocery Experience to Poway

Get your grocery list ready: The new Amazon Fresh store in Poway is set to open its doors to the public on Thursday, Nov. 7. at 14837 Pomerado Road.

This location marks the first Amazon Fresh store in San Diego County, bringing a fresh, grocery option to the community. Alongside a wide selection of quality groceries, the store will create dozens of jobs and donate surplus food to Feeding San Diego, reflecting Amazon Fresh’s commitment to supporting the local area.

What’s Inside

Spanning approximately 44,500 square feet, the store will offer a diverse selection of national brands and high-quality produce, meat, and seafood. Shoppers can expect prepared foods made fresh in-store daily, including deals on Atlantic salmon, navel oranges, and Thomas bagels. The store will feature dedicated areas for entertaining, showcasing a wide selection of crackers, cheeses, and charcuterie from local and national brands. Additionally, international flavors will be represented with a variety of condiments and sauces from around the globe.

For those busy weekends, grab-and-go options like sandwiches, salads, wraps, and snack boxes will be available, alongside ready-to-heat burritos, take-and-bake pizzas, and pre-made meals to simplify dinner plans.

Local favorites will also be a highlight, with more than 500 regional brands available, including Food for Life, Have’A Corn Chips, and Pizza Port. Customers can enjoy savings at Amazon Fresh, with deals on quality grocery items available in-store and online. Prime members will benefit from more discounts on more than 3,000 grocery items, including up to 50% off on rotating favorites each week, covering everything from fresh produce and proteins to pantry staples.

Design

Incorporating the latest brick-and-mortar design unveiled last year in select Chicago and Southern California locations, the Poway store will be a unique shopping experience. Shoppers can look forward to a vast array of national brands, high-quality produce, and protein options, as well as Amazon’s private-label brands like Aplenty, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Saver, and 365 by Whole Foods Market—all at competitive prices.

While Amazon has established a significant online grocery business with millions of products available for fast delivery, the company states it recognizes the importance of offering a selection, value, and convenience in physical stores as well.

“We remain committed to grocery and will selectively open new Amazon Fresh stores as we see positive customer feedback on the new format,” a company representative said, highlighting its ongoing growth alongside new Whole Foods Market openings.

The Amazon Fresh store in Poway will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
