Albany Police investigating homicide on North Pearl Street
The Albany Police Department announced it is investigating a homicide that happened on North Pearl Street.
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department announced it is investigating a homicide that happened on North Pearl Street. Police say it happened early Sunday morning.
According to Albany Police, they responded to 260 North Pearl Street around 12:10 a.m. for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police say they found a 49-year-old Albany man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was treated on the scene and then moved to Albany Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, per the Albany Police Department.
Police report that their investigation found that there was a gathering of people inside the vestibule of the building before the victim got shot. Police will not release the victim's name until proper notifications to family members have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to call the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039.
