AFD puts out 2-alarm fire in southeast Austin
The Austin Fire Department is actively working to put out a southeast Austin home fire in the 4600 block of Turnstone Drive.
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Fire Department worked to put out a southeast Austin house fire in the 4600 block of Turnstone Drive Tuesday morning. That area is near East Stassney Lane and South Pleasant Valley Road.
AFD said fire crews on the scene reported seeing heavy fire inside and outside of the home, and the fire at one point spread to the home next door.
The fire was caused by a propane tank in the backyard of the home, according to AFD. No one was hurt and everyone was evacuated from both homes safely.
The agency said the fire was upgraded to a second alarm, meaning more fire crews responded to the fire.
AFD said people should avoid the area as authorities continue investigating the fire.
