Aethir invests $100M to supercharge AI and cloud gaming development
Aethir has announced a $100 million ecosystem fund to support artificial intelligence (AI) cloud gaming.
Decentralized public infrastructure network (DePIN) firm Aethir has announced a $100 million ecosystem fund to support artificial intelligence (AI) cloud gaming.
Aethir Foundation will support the fund, whose grant programs are expected to accelerate the adoption of Aethir’s decentralized computing platform. This will further empower startups and established enterprises to scale their projects easily.
Aethir unveils catalyst program to power AI and gaming
The initiative includes the Aethir Catalyst program and is designed to offer startups and enterprises access to high-performance GPU resources. Over the next year, the fund plans to distribute 336 million ATH tokens, with an equal focus on AI and gaming projects. The fund’s distribution approach attempts to lower computer costs for companies integrating AI, machine learning, or high-traction gaming applications.
In addition to grants, the fund provides a subsidy program that pays up to 35% of off-platform GPU service fees, allowing businesses to use high-performance computing without incurring upfront costs.
Earlier this year, Aethir launched its cloud network on the Ethereum main net. DePINs are blockchain-based protocols used to create and operate the network’s physical hardware infrastructure decentralized.
Aethir’s cloud computing infrastructure platform allows data centers, other cloud providers, and cryptocurrency mining enterprises to donate idle graphics processing unit (GPU) resources to the network.
Aethir’s $100 million fund empowers startups by providing GPU access
According to Daniel Wang, CEO of Aethir, the $100 million fund targets the needs of startups and companies seeking high-performance GPU resources.
By offering funding and access to critical compute resources, we are working to democratize this technology and enable companies to scale more effectively. Daniel Wang
Aethir’s strategy extends beyond financial support. While a substantial chunk of the $100 million fund will go towards developer grants ranging from $5,000 to $200,000 in Aethir’s native token ATH, the Aethir Catalyst program will also give qualifying developers access to the company’s massive GPU processing power.
Aethir targets the developers to create games using decentralized GPU equipment, enticing potential clients to the network.
Apart from utilizing Aethir’s computing power for cloud-based games, developers will leverage the DePin GPU infrastructure to integrate AI solutions into their projects. While Aethir’s GPU resources are critical for developing successful cloud-based games, the company’s announcement focuses heavily on AI development prospects.
A final component of the Aethir Ecosystem Fund is integration with Aethir Edge, a hardware device designed to work with AI workloads and cloud gaming platforms. Users can earn ATH by hosting cloud computing services.
