Adams County shelter-in-place lifted after fire contained at petroleum facility

DENVER (KDVR) — The shelter-in-place in Adams County near a petroleum facility fire has been lifted after first responders were able to contain the fire.
A shelter-in-place was issued by the Sable Altura Fire Department due to a fire at a potentially dangerous facility, the department announced in a social media post.
Sable Altura fire was on the scene at 1909 Powhaton Rd. Powhaton Road has reopened after being blocked off by police due to the incident.
The fire occurred at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and is believed to have started from a tank fire with flames coming out of a pressure release valve, according to the agency.
The shelter-in-place was issued due to the "nature of the facility."
Bennett-Watkins and the Aurora Fire Department assisted at the site.
