A chance to dry out over the next few days, Meramec River to flood

ST. LOUIS - A record 3.89” of rain fell Tuesday at Lambert Airport. Adding that to Monday’s 3.75 inches, and Lambert says 7.64” of rain over the two-day period (plus almost a ½” on Sunday). This is the highest 2-day St. Louis rain total ever in November by more than 3”.

With some areas seeing 8 to 11 inches of rain, the smaller streams and creeks have crested, and all that water is moving into larger streams.

The Meramec River is expected to reach major flood stage over the next two days. Impacts will be felt from Steelville to Fenton, including impacts to the intersection of 141 and I-44.

On the weather side, we have a needed chance to dry out over the next few days. Sunny and dry Wednesday through Friday, highs in the low 60s and wake-up temps in the 40s. Rain is likely again on Saturday.
