The Albany Processing and Distribution Center is in its peak holiday rush season right now, with over 1.8 million packages processed in the last few weeks. That number is expected to grow by hundreds of thousands of packages before Christmas Eve — but how do they manage all of that?

2. Puppy hurt in Windham plane crash progressing in recovery

The Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley announced a promising update on one of the young dogs that survived a plane crash near Windham High Peak on November 24. After three weeks and multiple surgeries at a Connecticut veterinary hospital, Whiskey the Lab-mix puppy is on the mend as his recovery journey continues.

3. 29-year-old found, treated for frostbite in Schoharie County

Each week the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) releases the “Forest Rangers Week in Review.” For the week of Dec. 9 to 16, forest rangers in Schoharie County searched for a reportedly, potentially depressed person in the Blenheim State Forest.

4. AG finds deadly force in 2023 Johnstown attack was justified

After an investigation by the Attorney General’s office, officials said prosecutors wouldn’t be able to disprove that an officer’s actions were justified in the shooting death of Nathan Wood in September 2023. A Johnstown officer shot Wood after he attacked two people and an officer with a hammer in an apartment on Washington Street.

5. Electoral College at NYS Capitol

The electoral college is a part of the presidential election process. It took place at the New York State Capitol on Tuesday.
