ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy Friday Junior! Meteorologist Matt Mackie says it'll be windy at times this Thursday with potential flurries and temperatures sitting in the 30s.

Pittsfield High School's Dean was charged in a drug trafficking case on Wednesday. Also, the Dutchess County SPCA found a tub of kittens on their property on Monday. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Thursday.

1. Dean of Pittsfield High School charged in drug trafficking case

Two Pittsfield men were arrested Wednesday for their involvement in a drug trafficking case. Lavante Wiggins, 30, and Theodore Warren, a/k/a “Monty,” 42, were charged with one count each of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Wiggins is employed as the Dean of Pittsfield High School.

2. Dutchess Co. SPCA finds tub of kittens on its property

The Dutchess County SPCA (DCSPCA) in Hyde Park reported finding a covered tub of kittens on its property on Monday. The DCSPCA noted that situations like this can always be avoided by calling the SPCA to schedule an appointment for drop-off at its location in Hyde Park and they will do everything they can to help.

3. Livingston woman sentenced after shooting at NYSP trooper

A Livingston woman was sentenced for firing a gun at a state trooper in November 2020.

4. Village of Fonda issues boil water advisory

The village of Fonda issued a boil water advisory on Wednesday for all Fonda residents effective immediately. The village said this is because the water is cloudy and the chlorine levels are not meeting the state’s Department of Health standards.

The Village of Whitehall is still in a state of emergency since it’s been without drinkable water since Sunday night. Officials from the village and the state provided updates on the situation.
