Five people, including three children, were killed Monday morning in a shooting at a home in Washington state.
The King County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a reported shooting around 5 a.m. at a home in Fall City, about 25 miles east of Seattle.
Two adults and three teenage children were killed.
A “high school-aged” boy is the suspected shooter and is in custody at a juvenile detention center, the Sheriff’s Office stated.
The sheriff’s office did not release any identities or whether there was any relationship between the suspect and victims. KCSO Deputy Mike Mellis told KIRO 7 the victims all lived in the house together.
A neighbor told KING 5 a couple lived in the house with their five children. Mellis told the station there was no ongoing threat to the public and it appeared to be a “self-contained situation.”
A first responder told My Northwest “it appears the brother who fired the weapon tried to hang himself.”
One girl in their mid-teens, who is believed to be related to the victims, was hospitalized with unspecified injuries. Another teen is cooperating with investigators.
Officials said a neighbor with medical experience arrived before first responders and provided aid.
