3 women found dead in Ohio home, homicide investigation underway
An initial 911 call described the scene as a shooting but Columbus police said they were still investigating causes of death.
Three women were found dead in a Columbus, Ohio, home on Saturday afternoon and police are investigating the case as a triple homicide.
None of the victims were publicly identified and police did not provide any information about potential suspects. No one was in custody as of Sunday morning.
Cops also did not say how the three women died. An initial 911 call described the scene as a shooting but Columbus police said they were still investigating causes of death, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
“Unfortunately, this is a very complex scene with the amount of victims that we have,” Officer James Fuqua told reporters Saturday. “It’s going to take a little bit longer to make sure that we’re very careful in going through the scene meticulously so we do not miss any key piece of evidence.”
A friend of the victims called 911 around 4 p.m. Saturday after traveling to the house to check on her friends, according to local CBS affiliate WBNS. Police said they had little other information on what preceded the deaths and were searching for witnesses and video evidence.
The case may be connected to another homicide on Columbus’ south side earlier in the week though police have not confirmed a link. On Tuesday, Darrell Hambrick was fatally shot about half a mile from Saturday’s gruesome scene.
Hambrick, 45, used to live at the residence where the women were found dead, the Dispatch reported. Haikiem Graham, 39, was arrested in connection with Hambrick’s murder, police announced Saturday morning.
