3 dead in Zion house fire
Firefighters battled high winds during a blaze that left three people dead on the scene inside a house in Zion late Tuesday, fire officials said. Around 11:55 p.m., firefighters responded to the 2900 block of Enoch Avenue for a fire at a two-story home, according to a press release from the Zion Fire Department. Three people found inside the house and were pronounced dead, fire officials said. A neighbor was hospitalized with smoke inhalation but their condition was not released, officials said. High winds made the fire difficult to extinguish, officials said. About $350,000 worth of damage was estimated to be done to the house. The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
