3 armed kidnapping suspects arrested after police chase ends in Logan Square crash
Three armed kidnapping suspects were in custody after a police chase began on the Edens Expressway in the north suburbs ended with a crash in Logan Square late Monday.Around 10:45 p.m., state troopers found a vehicle involved in a possible armed kidnapping in the southbound lanes of the Edens north of Dundee Road and tried to make a traffic stop, Illinois state police said. The vehicle didn’t stop and a chase ensued off the expressway and through city streets until the fleeing vehicle struck another vehicle at the intersection of Diversey and Milwaukee avenues, state police said. Three people fled from the vehicle and were all taken into custody a short time later, officials said. They were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.It was not clear if anyone was kidnapped and charges have not been announced.
