21-year-old facing charges in deadly Walden crash
A 21-year-old Steamboat man is facing a vehicular homicide charge in connection to a deadly crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old in Walden.
DENVER (KDVR) — A 21-year-old Steamboat man is facing a vehicular homicide charge in connection to a deadly crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old in Walden.
On Sept. 21, the Colorado State Patrol said Carver Davis was driving a Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Main Street in Walden when he approached a sharp right curve. Troopers said he drove off the left side of the road into a bowling alley parking lot.
Troopers said Davis crashed into Molly Smith and Borrero Azucena Del Pilar, who were standing outside of a vehicle in the parking lot. Azucena Del Pilar was pronounced dead on scene, and Smith was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
CSP said they secured an arrest for Davis on the following charges:
- Vehicular homicide - reckless
- Vehicular assault - reckless
CSP said Davis is cooperating with police. He turned himself into the Routt County Jail.
