2 shot, wounded in 'verbal altercation' near Loyola University
Two people were wounded in a shooting across the street from Loyola University in Rogers Park on Monday afternoon, Chicago police said.The men — 24, 28 — were walking with another man in the 1200 block of West Loyola Avenue at 2:09 p.m. when a man approached them and a verbal altercation started, police said. The man then shot at the other three with a handgun.The 24-year-old was shot in the right arm and taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in fair condition; the 28-year-old was shot in the right hand and also taken to St. Francis in good condition, police said.The alleged shooter — who has a valid firearm owner identification card and concealed carry license — was arrested in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road shortly afterward and a firearm was recovered at the scene, police said.
