The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
It was cold, cold COLD out there this morning! Many in the hills and mountains saw temperatures drop into the single digits. Albany dropped as low as 15.
We warm quickly to around freezing by midday. Expect more clouds in the afternoon, with snow developing between 4 and 6 PM.
Snow will be steadiest overnight, but on and off snow showers will linger through the day Thursday for most. Some to the west could see lake effect snow showers behind the main system into Friday morning.
Expect totals ranging from an inch or two in Albany to a foot or more in favored locations in the southern Adirondacks.
A bit more mild for the weekend, with quiet conditions and highs in the low 30's Saturday, then close to 40 on Sunday.
Temperatures continue to rise into the start of next work week, setting up rain/snow mix with the next system that moves in.
