The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast by Meteorologist Jordan Due
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday and staying cozy inside! The weather outside looks less frightful here in Albany but the National Weather Service still has us in some winter weather and winter storm advisories and warnings over most of the area until 1AM Friday.
Low temperatures tonight are looking to drop further down into the 20s. This could cause that snow to stick around a little longer on Friday.
The storm is starting to track more northeast, allowing us to handle the leftovers for the rest of the early evening. There still could be some snow flurries that linger in our area tonight and then for Friday as well.
Futurecast shows that snow starting to taper off later tomorrow morning, then return around dinnertime tomorrow. Not too much accumulation is expected, but many places can expect a nice coating for tomorrow. Saturday there could be some lake effect snow that impacts places in the higher terrain more north of Albany.
Tonight temperatures will be chilly! Expect a bit of a rain/snow mix here in the valley as the storm dies down. Black Friday is a great day to eat those leftovers and we might see some leftover snow in the area as well from this system. Saturday the breeze kicks in and there could be some snow accumulation for those places up north throughout the weekend.
Monday there could be a few more flurries that drop-in. Then for the remainder of the first half of the week, we are forecasting snow showers from Tuesday-Thursday. Wednesday in particular looks like a more widespread round of snow showers that could linger for most of the day. The point being...dress accordingly and get ready for some more snow this week!
